Messages
Recruiters reach you here, and you can start a conversation from anyone's card in Recruiter Search or the Feed. Messages are private between you and the person you’re talking to.
The engineering-specific job platform — feedback first, connections second.
Engineers submit a resume and cover letter, get a scored, research-backed critique before anyone sees it, then get discovered by recruiters and apply in one click. Every rule in the feedback engine is sourced from real hiring-manager and recruiter data — see the Research tab.
How the platform fits together
One engineering profile powers all three surfaces — build it once in Resume Review.
Get graded, not guessed at
Paste a resume or cover letter and get a category-by-category score — quantified impact, achievement language, formatting, tailoring — with the exact lines to fix.
Get found by recruiters
A graded, complete profile surfaces higher in recruiter search. Recruiters filter by discipline, experience and location and message engineers directly.
Apply in one click
Postings pull straight from your graded profile — no re-typing a resume into a portal for every job.
Resume & cover letter review
Upload your actual file and it gets graded on how it reads and how it's put together — typography, structure, length, and whether an applicant tracking system can parse it. Loaded with an example so you can see the output right away.
Line-by-line notes
Your job preferences
Set once here. This is only ever shown to recruiters searching Recruiter Search — never to other engineers, and never on anything you'd hand someone as a resume. Your location and career path live in Settings now — they drive Local rankings from there.
What the grader is checking, and why
- Bullets with a number, %, or $ read as proof of impact — hiring managers scan for magnitude, not adjectives.
- "Responsible for / duties included" reads as a job description, not a track record — swap in the verb that started the work: reduced, built, led, automated.
- Mixed bullet styles and date formats are the fastest way to look unfinished in a 30-second scan.
- Five or six tools matched to the posting beat twenty tools listed — a long list reads as keyword-stuffing, not expertise.
- One page for most engineers under ~8 years of experience; a cover letter that runs past one page won't get finished.
Search engineer profiles
Engineers on Torque, newest first. The 🔒 Recruiter-only panel on each card — relocation, pay minimum, non-compete status, top strengths — is set by the engineer. Email and phone are never shown on a card: only verified recruiters can look them up, only for engineers marked open to work, and every lookup is logged.
Job board — easy apply
Analyze a resume in Resume Review first, then applying here reuses that profile instead of re-typing anything.
My applications
Every job you’ve applied to, in one place, with where it stands. On postings from verified recruiters the employer updates the status; you can withdraw any time.
Company rankings
Ranked by estimated pay for now. Employee ratings and how fast a company answers applicants get added as verified Track Record reviews come in — nothing here is invented. Pay ranges are estimates, not figures from these companies.
Track record
Only a company an engineer actually worked for, or an engineer a company actually employed, can leave a review here — no anonymous drive-by ratings on either side.
What the grading rules are based on
Condensed from hiring-manager surveys, recruiter interviews and engineering-education research — full write-up saved to the project.

Hire engineers who show their work
Torque is a job site built only for engineers — manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, controls, civil and more. Every engineer here can grade their résumé before they apply, so you see a clear profile instead of a keyword soup.
Search engineers
Filter by discipline and skills. See headline, experience, résumé score, pay range, relocation and non-compete status up front.
Post jobs free during beta
Your postings carry a “verified recruiter” badge with your company name. Engineers apply in one click.
Contact the right people
Message anyone. Verified recruiters can see email and phone for engineers who are open to work or who applied to your jobs.
How to get verified
- Create a free account.
- Request verification with your work email and your company’s website. The email domain should match the site.
- We check each request by hand. Once approved, you can post jobs and see contact details.
Privacy Policy
Last updated September 26, 2026. Plain language on purpose: what Torque collects, who can see it, and how to get it deleted.
The short version
- Your email and phone number are never shown on your profile. Only recruiters we have verified can look them up — and only if you're marked open to work or you applied to their job. Every lookup is logged.
- Your résumé file never leaves your device. The grader reads it in your browser; only the score you choose to save is stored.
- We don't sell your data, don't show ads, and don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- You can download everything we hold about you or delete your account any time from Settings.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and a password (stored encrypted by our account provider — nobody at Torque can see it).
- Profile: what you choose to add — headline, location, experience, education, skills, bio, photo, cover image, phone number, pay and relocation preferences, non-compete status.
- Activity: posts, comments, likes, messages, job applications and their status, job postings, reports and blocks you make.
- Recruiters: the company, job title, work email and website you submit for verification.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept by our hosting provider for security, and anonymous page-view counts with no cookies.
Who can see what
- Anyone, even signed out: open job postings.
- Signed-in members: your name, photo, headline, location, experience, skills, résumé score and your posts and comments.
- Recruiters on Torque: the recruiter-only panel you fill in (pay minimum, relocation, non-compete, strengths).
- Verified recruiters only: your email and phone — if you're open to work, or you applied to their posting.
- Only the two people in it: a direct-message conversation.
- Only you: your applications list, blocks, reports and settings. The employer who posted a job sees your application to that job.
- Torque's administrator: may review content that someone reports, and verification requests, to keep the site safe.
Who processes it for us
Supabase (database and accounts, United States), Cloudflare (website hosting, security and anonymous traffic counts) and Resend (sending account emails). They handle data only to run the service for us.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, comments, messages, applications, job postings, photos and reports are removed immediately. Server logs held by our providers expire on their normal schedules.
Your choices and rights
- Edit or remove profile details any time in My Profile.
- Turn off "open to work" to stop verified recruiters from looking up your contact details.
- Block anyone to stop them messaging you.
- Download your data or delete your account in Settings → Your data.
- Residents of states with privacy laws (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Kentucky) can also ask us by email to access, correct or delete their information; we'll respond within 45 days.
Children
Torque is for people 16 and older looking for work or hiring. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Security
Encrypted connections everywhere, database rules that decide who can read every record, rate limits, and automated protection against bots. No system is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach affecting you, we'll tell you.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll post it here with a new date. Questions or requests: support@torquehire.com.
Terms of Use
Last updated September 26, 2026. By creating an account or using Torque you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
What Torque is
A place for engineers to get résumé feedback, show their experience and apply to jobs, and for recruiters to find engineers and post openings. Torque isn't an employer or a staffing agency and doesn't guarantee any job, interview or hire.

- One person per account. Keep your password private; you're responsible for activity on your account.

- No spam, scams, pyramid schemes, or collecting other members' contact details to sell or market to them.
- Don't impersonate anyone or misrepresent your experience, credentials or employer.
- Don't try to break, overload, scrape or get around the site's security.
- Report anything that breaks these rules — the Report button is on posts, messages, profiles and job postings.
Extra rules for recruiters and employers
- Post only real, currently open roles you're authorized to fill, with honest pay and location.
- Never charge a candidate a fee to apply, interview, or be placed.
- Follow equal-opportunity and anti-discrimination laws.
- Use candidates' contact details only to discuss roles with them — not for mass marketing, and never resold.

Your content
You own what you post. You give Torque permission to store and display it on the site so the service works. Remove it any time; deleting your account removes it.
Résumé feedback
The grader gives automated suggestions based on published hiring research. It's guidance, not a promise of results, and doesn't replace your own judgment.
Enforcement
We may remove content, close job postings, or suspend accounts that break these terms or put other members at risk.
Disclaimers and liability
Torque is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Torque isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, for what other members post or do, or for hiring decisions made by employers or candidates.
